Michael, what marvelous use of COLOR and TEXTURE and unique brush strokes! This is a TERRIFIC painting. Keep it up. Susan

Michael Pickett replied:

A+ for story-telling, Michael. This painting really tickled me, for I once owned a doxie who ate a chocolate birthday cake while left briefly on her own. Great colors, and the expression in the eyes (coupled with slightly drooping ears) is just priceless. v/f

Michael Pickett replied:

Thank you very much, Connie! He turned out to be the best dog ever!

Oops! It would not let me make a second vote in the domestic animals contest! I hate it when they limit you to one vote! Well, I WOULD have voted for this there if I could. I did vote under the image on this page!

Michael Pickett replied:

Thanks Julie, the love of my life! lol

Saw this in the domestic animal contest and thought it was a good painting and had a cute idea behind it! Wanted to stop in and let you know I voted for this in the contest AND on this page under the image. Sometimes in the contests, even though you have a great entry, it gets overlooked because there are so many entries. As an artist myself, I know black animals are difficult to paint/draw. You did a great job with your highlights on the black fur.

Michael Pickett replied:

Thank you!

About Michael Pickett

Michael Pickett

I have been lucky enough to have had the pleasure of making and creating art for as long as I can remember. I've enjoyed making everything from reversed painted acrylic on plexi-glass to threedimensional recycled wall sculptures, to large multi-canvas commisions and murals. Although being an artist has had its challenges, it's really worth it to see someone look at my work and smile.
